BARBAROS was called into its existence during the cold wintery months of 1998 and brought to life in Northern Africa ,
it was the intention of the two founding members
Ayrod (Vocals, Guitars) as well as Kabal (Drums,
programming)
to call forth a band which would contribute it's music to the black metal in the old
vein
of BATHORY, MAYHEM, DARKTHRONE, IMMORTAL...etc.
 At the end of 1999 This line-up was changed for Mounircanigula (Drums), Ayrod (Guitars), Samirstrauss (Vocals), Raoufcannibal (bass),at these times this students are in university and have not much more times for the project, the
gathering between members is rarely. At the end of 2000 the line-up was flip for Lord Igret (Bass) and Kabal (Drums), Ayrod (Vocals, Guitars).
Recording the first black metal demo in north Africa called "Barbaros" -self distribution to 33 copy on tape A format under the own label DARK ARTS (R.I.P)- very bad and horrible quality, sounded more like a black/death metal with heavy influences.
 During 2001 the band first hit with this demo the
local radio, after several resumptions and negotiation was finaly accepted this inaudible thing for diffusion on hit parade broadcast called "Caravane Rock", the band appeared with the name of SATANACHIA participate with a title "spiritual word of darkness" from demo "Barbaros", stay in the hit more than 6 weeks and it was ratting 7th place in a top 10, and yet received some good reactions from the
listeners. for the same opportunity, on air Ayrod announced the creation of an underground metal rings called "DARK ARTS CIRCLE". since, many metal bands erupted like ASTARIAL, AZAEL, CELESTIAL DECAY, DARKRITUAL, MORIA, TENEBRUM, TADDART...etc, afterwards they associated under this virtual rings as an extreme metal label to supported the underground.
To play on stage, BARBAROS line-up was
reinforced
by Moh Strogg (Drums). after a few months of rehearsals. the first live appearance of BARBAROS takes place in festival to Urban libary of Mohamadia " the nights of the correspondence " Algiers,September 27, 2001 in front of approximately 20 metal-heads from 200 persons in the hall of the library.
After this event, we are in 2002, some problematic appeared. the line-up was reduced to the original line-up Ayrod and Kabal. the heralds of BARBAROS continued working on new material, so different than a first demo, the idea comes
without knowing what they would sound like with Synthetizer guitars in a distortional machine, the first experience was "Forest Of Anger" the second demo on DARK ARTS (R.I.P) released less-than 25 copy on CD-r format. ever since, it was just a few response from the world.
 During September 2003, Kabal left BARBAROS. since, some metal heads and supports ask about the project, if it was die or on stand-by!!...
Winter 2006, Ayrod decided to comeback and then would-be make a new material with a new stuff, there is on the underground black metal Label in Europe Eisiger Mond Productions, situated in French, this support created and directed by Yamaël (EITHEL SIRION,
NIRNAETH).
