BARBAROS INTERVIEWS

• Before we get start with the interviews , I think it would be wise to tell us a little bit of BARBAROS history since the majority of metal heads in the world would know less about a metal scene in ALGERIA..

Formed in Algiers in 98, BARBAROS was created by my self "Emperor Ayrod" (guitares & Vocal) with "Kabal occulto "(Drums) and set out to create an version of Music like BATHORY and MAYHEM; between 1999/2000 the line-up changed with some guys from NOSFIRATU (R.I.P) and Lord Igret from SATANACHIA, 2001 "Kabal occulto " come back with Mohstrogg (drums) for release first Demo called BARBAROS , 2001 September 27, first small-gigs to the festival " the nights of the correspondence " to Urban library Mohamadia Algiers. 2002 the second demo Forest of Anger on DARKARTS.TK

• Any latest information that you like to tell to the readers?

Very well, i made my second interview on the net for Emperor Zine from BRUNIE , and the first is on Explosion Cerebral Zine from Peru...its pleasure to make it for the real underground...

• So what are the current situation of metal scene in your country?

You ask about a metal scene in ALGERIA ? euh, i know and you know what it means the says " Metal Scene" its more than word !! you just see what happened in south america for example ( many metal bands , labels , fanzine and webzine , association , gigs organisation... ), but if its realy existe this scene in ALGERIA the says "Metal Scene" change to "Shit Scene"... my point of view its no way to compared !! maybe in future we can talk about this...

• So BARBAROS heavily influenced by MAYHEM and BATHORY. Can you tell us why and do you think some 'new' bands nowadays is not worthy to be follow ?

Its an coincidence , the first time when i was heard to mayhem , i aske what's this fuckin hell music,but i like it; and i ask why the media don't introduce this? Cause the major media in the word impose what people listen, what watching, what doing, what shiting..haha

BARBAROS is influenced by MAYHEM more in thiere darkest side of music and BATHORY by his barbarian images and the honorable warrior mentality of the medieval era... most inspiring in nature like DARKTHRONE ...etc

Nowadays we can follow many good bands like BAPTISM, TENEBRUM, BELENOS , TADDART and more...etc "...and don't forget BARBAROS (lol)"

• In 2001 the band did a demo. What was the response from the fans and the band it self? Did you get good reviews or not?

The first time when we have recorded the type demo called "Barbaros", we have been invited by an animators on the regional radio from Algiers "RADIO EL BAHDJA", and we have make a discution on air about band and our demo, and i remembre when one auditors said that he have for the first time in the algérien radio he listen to this Algérian Metal Band, ...its pleasure , and we have not get more reviews about a demo may be one or tow. Cause what I do are not very important and not good for other people, I have never done music for no one but me. Still, I think it's satisfying to know that the truly dedicated out there find something in what I do.

• I've just heard 'Forest Of Anger' and it seem the music is a mixtures of pure doom and evil.. Do you agree?

May be you have a raison , on the structural plans and some riffs , cause the times whos i composed are diffirents and most in the darkness ...lol

• And it seems from my point of view that the band need more time to mature in term of music . Any comments?

Yes, cause when you heard to " Pure Fucking Armageddon" and "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" there is high way to compared , we need more time to mature and it is very imprtant in the Music.

• So what kind of music composure do you like to make in the future?

Only Black Metal, may be i will adds some folk touch from my culture and the singers of very old people in north africa "BARBAROS"

• What are the band's situation now? Any latest band members or do you want to add some more members in BARBAROS?

Realy, now i m the one man band of BARBAROS , the situation are in stand by or "r.i.p" , I have not decided yet, cause may be I can will take some thing for my band by the way to add Amon from "TENEBRUM" ,Saîd from "DARKRITUAL(RIP)" and Salem from the far heavy metal bands in algeria "ATAKOR".

• I'm curious about the meaning of the band's monicker.. So what's the meaning of BARBAROS and where sis you get that name?

The world history are occulted by the false reality and idendity and we don't know more about north African or Berber's history, only the tales and legends belonged to the popular culture are true , nowadays I believ and support my Berber's people , and the name of BARBAROS is named to Berber people (IMAZIGHEN) by the old language from Grees mythology

• Is the name (BARBAROS) suitable with the band's image ?

Very well, we are from berber's people, and we are BARBAROS

• Any great bands in your area?

The leagends will never die BATHORY for ever , KAMPFAR, WINDIR , THY SERPENT, ZARATHUSTRA , BLUT AUS NORD.....and more

• Which zines do you think is the best so far and tell us why.

• What can you tell about Black Metal in your country?

Sorry ,but I give a shit..

• What are your comments about religions?

We make music, so no relgions no politics...

• Black Metal is not acceptable in certain countries because of some so-called 'evil' background. But what are your thought about it?

This acte is only for relegion or politcs causes ,the objectif is changes and forced a public opinions on thiere position , I ask why this hypocrisy .

• Please tell us why do you chose the path of evil?

Yes, this way called the path of evil , and we are the evil warriors of this world and we are the opposite of thiere idiologie to take what you get...

pride to be who you are , but not in the opposition to the brothers, the permanent complaint, but in voluntarism...
